Intermediate Biomechanics - “Shoe Fitting & Custom Device Prescription for the Chronic At-Risk foot”

This intermediate program will concentrate on the management of the chronic at-risk foot, including footwear and orthotic device provision.

The program will be targeted to the delegates managing relevant patient profiles (diabetes, vascular, rheumatology & orthopaedics).

  • Management principles of the chronic at-risk foot
  • The role of footwear in the chronic at-risk foot
  • Measurement, selection & fitting of stock footwear
  • The role of orthoses in offloading
  • Prescription of custom made devices

The course will include a combination of Theory and Practical Workshop sessions taking place in PPL Cork.
